New Things

Yeah, there are a lot of new things here in Asuncion. hahaha The area is so different from the boonies of Yobai.

It was really interesting this week, so little sleep but so much fun and craziness. What has made it so fun was the whitewash we did. (Both coming into a new area where missionaries haven't been for a while.) My comp is Elder R, a CAPO who I have known for a while and have even taught with him in many divisions that we have had. So, it was like reuniting with a good friend. The craziest part was we were sent in to whitewash our new area, and  starting with basically zero.

We taught a lot of good lessons and had some good things happen in our area. A lot of contacting (just going up and talking to people in the streets or shopping areas), which is different because the people here are a little colder than in the country.  But I was able to get to know a lot of the leaders in the area, and have some good talks with them and the goals we have to work more closely with the members. The bishop liked the scripture we shared so much that he gave us 5 min. to share it with the men in the priesthood session and I was also able to bear my testimony in the sacrament meeting, and killed 'em with the "namby guazu" joke (elder big ear).

This was on FB with the caption "New assistant and clerks"

Things are cool here. I guess Mom saw a picture of me with a new assignment, and I hope everyone knows that is exactly what it is, an assignment. My CALLING from the Lord has been to preach repentance, and baptize converts, and I have been entrusted with an assignment to help other missionaries do the same. So for right now, I'm just excited to be able to update you all on all of the success that we are seeing in Libertad and the baptisms that are coming.

We already have a plan with C, un capo!

I love you all so much,

Elder Yocum
