Hey family, how's it going!? I feel like its been forever since the last time I've been able to talk to you and the truth is that a lot of time HAS passed. This last week I was writing, and there were a few things that popped up, so I wasn't able to do much. So I'll have to catch you up this last week.
So, this last week was changes and it was like the craziest thing ever. Week 6 was crazy because Elder Bragg of the Seventy (an incredible guy) came down to tour the mission, and that gave us a TON of extra things to do. Luckily, everything turned out really well and he had many great things to say about the mission. But it was an EXHAUSTING WEEK. I'll attach a photo to show just how exhausting haha. But yeah, it was also my last week with Elder R, and it got really emotional. He was an incredible missionary and a great friend. I look forward to seeing him at BYU.

At the end of the week we had our Staff meetings for changes, and my new companion BLEW MY MIND! Elder freaking C! From my own CCM group! Yeah, I know, how blessed can a guy be? I love every single one of the comps that I have had and really, Elder C is such a great guy and I'm so happy to be with him. The week of changes is always crazy and I was pretty nervous without Elder R, but luckily because Elder C had already been in the office, he already knew the system mas o menos. We were able to start with a blast off, and have 3 trainings in the first week for newbs, trainers, and zone leaders. It was a crazy week, but a lot of fun. We didn't end up getting to our area until Friday, but once we got here, we worked hard. It's going to be a fun next couple weeks.
I'm so grateful for you guys and so happy to be where I'm at. I am so glad to be able to hear from so many friends lately. You all mean so much to me, and I hope my stories aren't too boring, but I do love hearing from you guys on my end.
One funny story:
We left with our recovering crack smoking member to go and teach some investigators. We were in the villa, Spanish for the ghetto basically, and it was so funny. We were in a lesson and I bore testimony about the Book of Mormon and looked at J (the member) and asked, "How do you know that the book of Mormon is true?" And after a moment of deep thought, he looks into the eyes of this investigator dead serious and says "I have studied the Book of Mormon for a long time, and I know it's true, because with it..... I hacked Google." Elder Yocum: ".....you hacked Google with the Book of Mormon..." Julio: *a little confused with my comment* "Yeah.....you know, with the triangle." Elder Yocum: *looks at investigator* "And you too can know the Book of Mormon is true if you are willing to pray and........" *etc.*)
Basically, one of the most hilarious things ever. J is a great guy....sometimes.
Hope there is much love and laughter.
Elder Yocum
