World's Greatest Service Missionaries

MAN, what a cold week! I actually did something I SWORE that I would never do. I actually wore a long sleeve shirt out while we worked!

We were in Villarica last Tuesday and it rained and got CRAZY cold, and the cold just hasn't left since. It is totally a new game here, the cold changes everything from peoples attitudes, to how we have to work. It doesn't look like Paraguayans handle the change any better than we do.

We also got thrown some curve balls. This week our bikes got kinda trashed from the mud AND my helmet EXPLODED!  (Don't worry Mom) I was walking my bike with my helmet hanging off the handle bars and one of the straps got caught in the wheel spokes and ripped it off the bars and hit the ground and EXPLODED--like a HUGE chunk came off! Really not up to US standards. So crazy, but what that meant was we had to lose a day and bounce to Villarica again and buy a chuuchi helmet which will actually protect my head in the event of a crash. Awesome. Love the P YOBAI VIBE.

As far as big ticket items, Elder P and I were cracking up because we feel like the world's best service missionaries.  The only problem is we aren't service missionaries.

This week, we cleared up branch drama, got menos activos to church, implemented a home teaching system, started a weekly family home evening rotation, and taught a successful reading class to improve scriptural reading and understanding skills (I'm excited about it and so are other people because now they'll be able to better communicate with people from other cities.... man where am I?).  AND shout out to my Mama and all other seminary teachers because we successfully had our first seminary class of the Old Testament, and I can tell you it is not an easy thing to do.

All of these things, we basically did twice. Once in San Antonio, and once in Paso Yobai.  We are getting closer to an actual branch split and so all these things have to be implemented in both areas so there's a smooth transition when it happens.

So yea, basically through our efforts and the Lords help, Zion is a little more established in Paso Yobai.

BUT the problem is, we aren't service missionaries. We are also here to invite people to come unto Christ and baptize. It was a good week of finding and having lessons. We found some cool new people, but it's a part of the work we can't allow to suffer or slack on.

Love where I'm at! So sad to think Elder P is probably leaving next week at the end of transfers. What an incredible guy and companion. Honored to have learned from him and glad to know he will be at the Y!

Love you guys, and this crazy place.

Shout out to Mothers all over the world, including my very own.
