CHRISTmás

More Christ people.
An incredible first Christmas while on the mission, and everyone is right--there's no way I'm forgetting it and the things I learned from it. First of all, that is the key, more CHRIST. This is the Christmas where I feel like I greatly understand the significance of the Gift that we were given by our Heavenly Father and that what we celebrate is the second chance we've been given to live with our God again. Incredible. It was a season of sharing my favorite message to some of my favorite people in a language I'm learning to love so much. How blessed I am to be able to do this for 2 years. Awh man. So stoked.

I mean, of course I miss home--but really, we've been so head down on the work that even Christmas snuck up on me.  Or maybe it's just because it's so hot (going to be 107 this week) but it was a day I fully enjoyed.

Christmas day came and all the elders in my zone met up in Paraguarí and we made a killer lunch of BBQ chicken with rice that had french fries in it (sounds like a college meal or one a bunch of 20 year olds would make, which it was). The container for all the food was a refrigerator door we cleaned out.  So yea, then we had white elephant.  We all laughed as Elder G broke down crying after he recieved a crappier chess set than the one he already had. I received a wine opener and a snazy looking pen that doesn't work.

After, we headed to the church and played the most ghetto game of paintball I could ever have the capacity to even imagine. We cut the tops off of water bottles and stretched water balloons over the spout thing that you drink from. We picked a bunch of berries off bushes and stuffed our mouth full of them and run around and spit the berries one at a time into the balloon and pull back and release, which would send the berry flying 100 mph and leave welts and stains on each other. Super, super dope. After, we played hours and hours of soccer. The best is getting complements from the Latinos and being trusted enough to be told you're allowed to do more than just sit near the goal and defend (only after they tire themselves out).

Super fun day full of sweat, laughs, and fun. We ended the night with two baptisms for Elder G and Elder F, the two other missionaires in Paraguarí and ended the night waiting an hour for lomitos. All in all, it was a very great day and a very Merry Christmas.

Les Quiero a ful,

Elder Yocum
