Light the World

The mission is up in arms right now because the area presidency took away our Christmas activity, and so now we have no idea what we are going to do but we are hoping for something good.

I loved hearing about the Utah trip.  It's funny, I've been super Lake Powell trunky from the heat AND Christmas trunky at the same time.  It's a weird feeling. But, still enjoying all I can while I'm here. There has been a lot of good stuff. Although, I have to admit the photos Liv shot me were so cool! (she went with her little brothers to the BYU/Utah State game on Saturday)  To see how different everyone looks and the things I'm missing out on.

This week was great. We had another baptism of YC from a family that we reactivated, (partly due to my cooking talents and the banana cake that allowed us to keep coming over) which was really beautiful. But a pena happened, because it started raining tusha right before the service AND when it was time for the baptism Y started crying because was scared of the water (11 years old).  But, in the end it all worked out, with the biggest damage being done to Elder R's shirt as his red towel bleeded pink on him, as he used it to protect himself from the rain.

It has been so cool seeing the reactivation and baptism success that we have seen. We had one of the highest attendances this week at church  and we were able to watch all of our converts participate in the service.

F, who was baptized last week, said the opening prayer and N, our boy, received the priesthood this week and will be blessing the sacrament next week. AND after were able to have the baptism of Y. It was good week with a lot of divisions. I'm learning a lot of really valuable tools in leadership, and how to help others when they are struggling. I've been praying a lot to better understand charity and God has been giving me a lot of chances to put it into practice. There are some missionaries struggling in the zone, and have needed our help, AND I've had this painful kink in my neck from sleeping on it wrong. Never have I missed Dr. Lowe so much. Things like this make it hard to focus on and help others, but it has just made me realize that charity and thinking of others before ones self is an active and dedicated mode of thinking. It is so easy to lose sight of what is really important if we are not actively remembering. I am just glad the things we are asked to do to remember is different from the law of Moses. Those guys had it really rough.

We had an awesome Thanksgiving dinner of 2 rotisserie chickens, mashed potatoes, gravy, pasta, soda, and salad. I am surrounded by trunky! It was me, with 3 Latino missionaries that all go home within the next month and a half.

I STILL GOT TIME MAN!

Love you all. Light the world!
